This page outlines some of the general training and education opportunities available.   Most of the specific courses have been included in the Diary of RSCM Events and aspects of the Organists Training Scheme are to be found on the page specific to that scheme [Organists].   The following list - with links as appropriate - summarises some of the individual key areas of training, learning, advancement and education supported by and associated with the RSCM.

RSCM Voice for Life and RSCM Awards schemes
A formalised and structured scheme of education and learning for singers [from all walks of life and ages]

RSCM Midland, South-West & South Wales Cathedral Singers
An opportunity for any choristers [adult or junior] who would like to consider joining a choir of a high standard,  which sings in cathedrals and other similar establishments,  when the resident choir is absent.

RSCM Training & Education
Link to the main RSCM website, showing several/many training & education opportunities covering all facets of church music.  The latest RSCM Training Brochure is available as a PDF download.

A new, flexible programme of training and education for church musicians and leaders of worship, leading to:

  • University of Wales, Bangor, "Certificate of Higher Education in Sacred Music Studies";  and also to
  • RSCM Preliminary Certificate, 
  • CertRSCM;  and
  • DipRSCM.
