| RSCM Bristol Cathedral Easter Course [14-16 April 2004] | |
![]() 1...The Easter garden still in evidence to the left and the choristers on the RSCM Easter Course through the choir screen arches. But then if we move across the cathedral, a little to the South we may then take ... |
![]() 2... a sneak view - through an aperture on the South side of the choir screen - of some of the adults trying to keep up [or at least pretending to!] with the pace of the younger choristers during the practice on Friday afternoon. If you could see more clearly, you might notice them actually looking at David; a rare treat indeed. |
![]() 3...and much energy was put into the conducting, rubbed off on and stored by the choristers and given out during the services as the key to the worship. |
![]() 4...and this just shows a sort of togetherness between conductor, choir and building! |
| RSCM Midlands South West & South Wales Cathedral Singers at St Mary's Warwick [6 Mar'04] | |
![]() St Mary's Warwick from the front [West], approaching from the town market. Quite impressive if you've never seen the magnificent building before; on turning the corner from the market place and suddenly there it is in all its glory. I'm a bit of a one for old churches and cathedrals and this was really rather good... |
![]() ... and then a view from the North. I think some of the most beautiful parts of the church are missed by the majority of visitors, by their not delving round the less accessible parts of this old building. We had the advantage, that there was a wedding that we had to avoid disrupting, so we shown the side entrance to access the song-room, and thus the ready opportunity to see this part of the structure. |
![]() The altar! You can just see the almost semi-circle of choir stalls, which aims to retain the concept of Decani and Cantoris and the associated accoustic; but with the choir facing the congregation and thus being more part of the body of the church [I really must get myself a proper camera!!] |
![]() A photo [taken with permission of both herself and her father] of one of our young choristers [Vicky] in the song room during the lunch break! |
